Family Specialist
What is a Family Specialist?
The primary purpose for the position is to help build communication with parents, staff and community in order to assist at risk students who are experiencing barriers to success and to build parent capacity to participate effectively in school activities.
What services does the Wilshire Family specialist provide?
- Facilitate on-site parental involvement activities
- Facilitate parent education
- Conduct home visits
- Work with families of at-risk students to provide necessary support structures to assist students overcome barriers to achievement and school attendance
- Consult with administrators, teachers, and other support staff regarding student social and family issues.
- Provides school supplies to families in need
- Develops Volunteer activities
