The Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is planned and taught by following the Texas Pre-K Curriculum Guidelines. The guidelines are based on knowledge of theory and research about how children develop and learn. This document recommends that emphasis be placed on young children's conceptual learning, acquisition of basic skills, and participation in meaningful and relevant learning experiences. This schedule also delineates the content that children are to learn and what they should be able to achieve. It also provides a means to align the Pre-K programs with the Texas Essential Knowledge and skills (TEKS).

In our classroom, all of the above is achieved thru the use of seasonal themes by using a variety of pertinent and related resources that enhance the learning. Parent participation in all aspects of the curriculum is always encouraged.
