Ed White Middle School, named for astronaut Edward H. White, opened its doors to students living in the eastern section of the district in the fall of 1970. A comprehensive facility encompassing 100,000 square feet, it houses self-contained class-rooms, band and choral halls, homemaking and industrial technology labs, a resource center, two gymnasiums, a combination auditorium and cafeteria and instructional area equipped to supplement the efforts of more than 70 teachers. Twenty acres of plainsland surrounding the school contain tennis courts and football, baseball and soccer fields. |

Under Construction In November of 1999, Ed White students moved into their updated facilities: four new classrooms, a new air conditioning system and ceiling, renovated student and faculty restroom. Completion of the network system connected all students and teachers to the NEISD computer network, allowing Internet Access.
