Jeffrey Owens, Principal
Rangers would like to welcome Mr. Owens to our staff. We look forward to getting to know you as we begin this new chapter at Wetmore.
Mr. Owens has worked in education for over 21 years. He has taught first, second, third, fifth, and sixth grade. He has been as Assistant Principal at Hardy Oak, Wilderness Oak, and Royal Ridge.
Mr. Owens enjoys working in the yard, watching UT football games, eating great food, spending time with his friends and family, and laughing…A LOT!
At Wetmore, he expects high levels of student engagement and academic excellence for all students. His passion for providing a positive and nurturing experience for students is known by many. Kids come first. They always will. Developing leadership abilities in students, staff members, and the community is one of his central beliefs. You are encouraged to participate in our school community as your time permits. Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service, be intentionally inviting to the community we serve, and provide students with the skills necessary to become successful in an ever changing world.

Lesha Dalton, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Dalton is honored to be serving the Wetmore community as the assistant principal. She is thrilled to be assisting teachers, students, and families in such a nurturing atmosphere. Mrs. Dalton is a North East graduate of MacArthur High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and went onto the University of Texas at San Antonio to earn her certification for Special Education and Elementary Education. Mrs. Dalton earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas State University.
Mrs. Dalton taught in S.A.I.S.D. at Washington Elementary School before returning to N.E.I.S.D. in 1998 where she taught at Windcrest Elementary before moving into administration at Olmos Elementary. In 2011, Mrs. Dalton had the opportunity to become a Wetmore Ranger and is delighted to be a part of a school where student achievement and the development of future leaders is the focus.
When she is not at school, Mrs. Dalton enjoys spending time with her son who is an avid musician and scholar in high school. She also loves spending time with her stepdaughters along with husband, Wesley. Mrs. Dalton loves learning, reading, yard work, boating, decorating, and being outdoors.
