2014-2015 Facility Planning Process

North East ISD underwent a facility planning process in 2014-2015 that included a needs assessment of its facilities, technology, equipment, library collections, and other resource program areas. This process is a direct result of the "Transforming the Future" Strategic Plan   developed during the 2013-2014 school year. Goals 2 and 8 of the "Transforming the Future" plan are leading the facilities planning process to address technology infrastructure and resource inequalities districtwide.

Through data collection, NEISD evaluated the District’s future facility and infrastructure priorities. The facility planning process began with a comprehensive facility needs survey completed by principals and district staff from November 17 - December 17, 2014. Additionally, an online community facility needs survey was completed by parents, students, employees and taxpayers from January 23 - February 6, 2015.

The District formed a Facility Steering Committee of parents and community members to guide the planning process from March through June 2015. The Facility Steering Committee reviewed the District's resource needs to prioritize a range of projects. The work of the Facility Steering Committee was shared during community meetings on March 30, April 28 and May 19, 2015.

The NEISD Facility Steering Committee presented a final proposal to the Board of Trustees on June 15 recommending a bond program for the district. Facility equity between old and new parts of the district; extra-curricular activities and 360 degree education; and health & safety are all at the forefront of the 2015 Proposed Bond program.
