THE GOAL OF THE TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE SHOP IS TO MAINTAIN THE NORTH EAST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT (NEISD) SCHOOL BUSES IN THE SAFEST POSSIBLE CONDITION FOR THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF THE STUDENTS THAT ARE BEING TRANSPORTED
- The Transportation Shop has 25 full time employees that maintain, keep records of and order parts for all North East ISD on-road vehicles. The North East ISD fleet consists of 377 school buses and 297 support vehicles.
- The Transportation Shop completes approximately 950 work orders per month.
- School Bus Service Schedule:
- Oil Change and over all bus inspection every 7,500 miles
- Tune-up and over all bus inspection every 15,000 miles
- Transmission service and over all bus inspection every 30,000 miles
- Brake inspection every 50,000 miles or three years (removal of all wheel assemblies) - Brakes are visually inspected at every service interval
- Texas state inspection
