Thousand Oaks

Dear Students, Staff, Parents, and Community,

It is always amazing to see another school year come to a close.  So much has been accomplished in just a few short months.
I am amazed by the support of our community.  Some of the special events this year that our community supported were the Apex Fun Run and fundraiser, the Fall Festival, student programs on PTA nights, campus party days, the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Walk, the Young Masters Art Show, Jon’s Run, and teacher appreciation week.
Our PTA membership and volunteer pool grew tremendously this year.  We enjoyed seeing WatchDOGS on our campus each week and peer mediators starting off our days with a smile.  Clubs gave our students opportunities to pursue interests and work with teachers on projects outside the scope of our formal curriculum.
We worked hard on our academic targets and learning about the new accountability system. We are using this information to plan for the year ahead and to make sure we are providing the very best instruction for all of our students.
As you make plans for the summer with outings, trips, or just visits to the pool; don’t forget to include time for reading to maintain those academic skills we built throughout the school year.
The first day of school will be August 26, 2013.  We will announce class assignments and host a “Meet the Teacher” night the week before school begins.
It has been my pleasure to serve our students and their families this school year, and an absolute blessing to watch each child grow and develop their unique story.
