Dear Students, Staff, Parents, and Community,
Thank you so much for an amazing first year as Principal of Thousand Oaks Elementary. I am so proud to be a part of this incredible place for students.
We set out on a journey to help our student build stories of success. During this school year, we focused on student achievement while building a renewed sense of community. We began work in a new state assessment system with the STAAR. We continued traditional events such as Rodeo Day and our Fall Festival. We honored community with events like the Great Strides Thousand Oaks Cystic Fibrosis Walk and Jon’s Run. We served our community with Earth Day Events, a canned food drive, collections for the animal shelter and a book drive. We also celebrated some fun with events like Bike Rodeo, Math and Reading Night, and school book fairs. All these successful events involved faculty, students, parents, and volunteers – utilizing teamwork to make each a success.
I want to thank each of you who took part in any school events or volunteer efforts this year and encourage families and community members to continue their involvement. As you continue to find ways in which you can support our school and share your talents, our community is strengthened and our kids are definitely worth it!
Enjoy your summer and rest up for another great year.
Sincerely,
Jenae Mai
Principal
