Accelerated Reader 2012 - 2013

Accelerated Readers: READ, LEARN & LEAD!

First through fifth grade students at Thousand Oaks Elementary School are invited to improve their reading skills and nurture their love of reading by participating in the

2012-2013 Accelerated Reader Point Club.

.

This year's Accelerated Reader American Leaders theme has the dual purpose of inspiring students to be leaders and of encouraging them to set and reach personal reading goals in order to qualify to attend AR Day at the Book Fair on May 6th.

All students who are reading independently are invited to participate. Student’s first names will be posted on the AR bulletin board when they reach the the first Accelerated Reader point level for their grade level. Students will be given the opportunity to post their insights after reading about famous Americans at each point level.

Second through fifth grade students who reach their level #2 point goal by April 19th will be invited to participate in the AR Day at the Book Fair activities. ( First graders must qualify by the day of the event.)

Kindergarteners and first graders, not yet reading independently, are invited to participate in other NEISD Read Kids Read activities such as Read Around the School and Read Across America Day.

Plan to make it a habit! All Thousand Oaks Students and their families are encouraged to develop the reading habit by spending at least 20 minutes each day reading for enjoyment and to improve their reading ability.

Readers are Leaders!

Our whole community will benefit as our Thousand Oaks Readers

learn to lead and contribute.
