Mr. Cook

As counselors at Royal Ridge Elementary, we hope to work closely with all staff members to help create a safe and positive learning environment  for each of our students.  Our primary goal is to meet all individual emotional and academic needs of our students through guidance and counseling.

     Students may see the counselor by: self-referral, parent referral, administrative referral, special services referral, or referral by a friend.  We will be focusing on the following areas throughout the year during counseling sessions and/or guidance lessons:   self-esteem, communication, cooperative work, personal safety, decision making, conflict mediation, and appreciation for cultural differences.

Students at Royal Ridge Elementary will follow the Self Manager Discipline Program which focuses on teaching students seven keys to success.  In the program, students are given the responsibility of controlling behavior and setting specific goals to improve behavior.  The Seven Keys to Success are: responsibility, honesty, respect, self-discipline, perseverance, compassion, and giving/generosity.

     We want all of our students here at Royal Ridge Elementary to become healthy, happy, and independent learners in and out of the school setting.
