DOCUMENTATION

It will be the responsibility of the student and parent to work with the off-campus instructor/agency to complete all necessary documentation, including the instructor’s signature on the Application, signed and notarized Indemnification Contract, and completed District Agreement with insurance verification, as required by North East ISD.

APPROVAL

The campus counselor will submit all completed documents to the campus administrator with a recommended student schedule. The counselor will also send a copy of the completed application packet to the Assistant Director in Charge of Off-Campus P.E.

SITE VISIT

The Assistant Director in Charge of Off-Campus P.E. will visit the off-campus site to meet with the student’s instructor to verify that NEISD administrative procedures are being met in regards to the student’s schedule, safety, and insurance. Verification for final approval will be submitted to the Executive Director of Athletics.

GRADING

The off-campus instructor/agency will submit a Report of Student Progress to the student’s campus each six weeks. [See EEL (E).] The report will certify that the student is maintaining satisfactory performance standards and is meeting attendance requirements. The grading standard shall be "P" (Pass) or "F" (Fail).

Required attendance is a minimum of 15 hours per week of highly intense, professional, supervised training.

In case of the student’s irregular attendance or a failing semester grade submitted by the off-campus agency/instructor, the district may rescind the contract.

CREDIT

High school students may earn up to two full units of physical education credit to count toward graduation requirements. Any credit beyond the two allowable State physical education credits shall be deemed local credit only, which cannot count toward graduation requirements. No more than one credit per calendar year may be awarded.

The student remains responsible for earning the required one and one-half units of physical education credit for graduation.
