CONTINUING |
Continuing contracts shall be issued to teachers only. This contract is appropriate for those teachers who also have duties such as coaches, band directors, hospital teachers, and federally funded teachers. |

SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACTS |
Coaches, band directors and other teachers with responsibility for handling additional duties listed on the Supplemental Salary Schedule (published annually) shall receive Supplemental Agreements to document the agreement to provide the additional services and receive supplemental pay for these services. A Supplemental Agreement shall not be necessary unless the supplemental salary for the additional duty is Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) or more. Coaches and sponsors of major activities such as annual sponsor shall be generally hired to fill a teaching position and to provide the additional services associated with these activities. All teachers shall be subject to reassignment to another campus. Any teacher who signs a supplemental duty agreement shall understand that provision of the additional duty is essential to meet the staffing requirements of the campus. If the teacher shall be unable to continue to fill the supplemental duty position, the teacher may be included in the group of teachers subject to reassignment. |

RESIGNATION OF SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES |
When a teacher or coach is removed from or resigns a supplemental duty, the principal shall retain the employee on campus, provided a position is available in that area of certification. If no teaching position is available, the teacher shall be classified surplus immediately or during May of the current school year. The teacher shall then become available for placement/reassignment to other schools as positions become available, and for the next school year. If the teacher is classified surplus by the Personnel Department during the school year, the teacher shall be utilized as a substitute with no reduction in salary. As positions become available in areas of certification, the teacher shall be considered for reassignment. |
