Term contracts shall be issued to all employees assigned to pay grades on the Administrator/Professional Pay Grade Assignment Schedule. (Individuals filing positions as nurses, counselors, diagnosticians, psychologists and librarians during 1992-93 who were hired to fill the positions under the provisions of the Continuing Contract Law shall continue to receive a Probationary Contract or Continuing Contract as appropriate. individuals hired for these positions with service beginning with the 1993-94 school year shall receive term contracts.) |

TERM
RETIRED EMPLOYEES |
The term of the contract shall depend on the employee's experience (see T.E.C. Section 21.209). One-year terms shall be used for employees considered to be probationary. Two-year terms may be used for employees who have completed the probationary period. Supervisors may recommend that employees eligible for a two-year contract receive a one-year contract. Educators who retired from a district other than NEISD will be employed on a probationary contract for the first year of employment (and subsequent years, to the extent authorized by the Education Code). Educators who retired from NEISD will be employed on a one-year term contract. Employees hired in positions with no Chapter 21 protection will be employed on a Non-Chapter term contract. |
