Redland Oaks Fourth Graders Present Texas History Play

Redland Oaks fourth graders present "The Texans, Birth of a Lone State State".

            Under the leadership of teachers, Karen Cervenka, Terry Woltersdorf, Emily Bryce, and Jenness Davidson, the 4^th graders at Redland Oaks presented the play, “The Texans: Birth of the Lone Star State” to parents, staff and fellow students. The play was absolutely outstanding and no doubt one of the best elementary theatre presentations ever! The students gave factual accounts of the history, including the settlement, fight for independence, and expansion of Texas, through song and small acts. When the Battle of the Alamo was presented there were actual tears in the audience! They made Texas history come alive and helped the audience better understand the historical events that make Texas unique and all Texans proud. All the students had a part in the play or served on a technical support light or sound team. This wonderful presentation will remain a special memory for both the students and their audience.
