Print Services uses up to date software for the design industry in order to give you the best quality work possible. It is preffered that all files submitted to Print Servies be compiled using standard software. We do realize however, that not all campus or department have access or the budget for the latest software, so it would be a good idea to consult with Yvette Carreon, Graphic Artist before submission of electronic files. She may be able to compile the file for you or give you advice on what software to use before you submit your file.
Printing Services will provide proofs for all work that is typeset.
Please read your materials carefully to assure accuracy. We do use the software spell check feature. However, there may be instances when the word is spelled correctly but is not grammatically correct. A final signed proof, by the customer, is our indication that all work is acceptable and we are to proceed with printing. Customers will be billed for reprints if customers notice errors when the work has been completed, and we have a signed customer approval proof in our files.
The Graphic Artist will fax or send (on pony) a proof for your approval. Please return the proof with any changes as soon as possible. When the return of a proof is delayed the printing process is also delayed. Final proofs will not be accepted without an approval signature.
There are times when customers want to get ideas about how to typeset and/or produce graphic materials. An appointment must be made with Yvette Carreon, Graphic Artist for this type of service. Consultation services for graphic arts/typesetting will be charged at $40.00 per hour, and will be broken down into fifteen (15) minute increments. The least amount that will be charged is $10.00 for fifteen (15) minutes.
Example:You will be billed $50.00 for graphic arst/typesetting services if you spend one hour and fifteen minutes with the Graphic Artists. You will be charged $10.00 if you spend ten (10) minutes with the Graphic Artist.
Print Services will charge the hourly rate (see examples listed above) for graphic arts/typesetting services to create graphics, files, etc. that are distributed on disks or through the network or intranet. There will be an additional charge for diskettes that are used to distribute graphics. Software copyright policy does not allow us to share graphics from our software. The only graphics that we may distribute are those created by our Graphic Artist, and will be charged at the rates as stated in the previous section.
