Wood faculty start school on new beat
|
To inspire teachers to come back and start the new school year energized, Wood Middle School hosted the Drum Cafe during first day activities for the faculty. First day activities revolved around the school's theme: Engaging Minds, Enriching Hearts. "Teachers entered the cafeteria feeling the beat of the music as they began to actively participate in the pounding of individual drums." said Wood Principal Brenda Shelton. "The program was designed to assist teachers in realizing how important they are to the success to our campus." Connections were made while teachers learned how to unite and work as one campus in order to move forward in building relationships with colleagues and students. According to Shelton, positive energy flowed from the teachers. "It was exciting to see a different side of our teachers--dancing, playing instruments and getting into the rhythm of the beat," said Shelton. "This beat will continue as we welcome our students back to campus and continue to work toward 'Engaging Minds and Enriching Hearts.'" |
