White kicks off mentoring program

For the second year, White Middle School kicked off its campus mentoring program on Friday, Sep. 19 in the school's library. This kick-off breakfast gave mentors and students the opportunity to meet.

"We believe that relationships are the key to student success," said Principal Jennifer Baadsgaard. "What better way to build additional relationships outside the classroom than through mentors?" Faculty mentors sent invitations to their mentees to join them for an informal breakfast reception to get to know one another.

Mentors will work with select students throughout the school year. The mentoring program allows students and mentors to develop a relationship that fosters academic and personal success.

The program provides students with another adult who can serve as their advocate.
