The Churchill High School Drumline competed this past Friday at the Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) Championships in Houston. They competed in the Scholastic World Division, the highest division, and won first place with their show entitled "Still Life."

In addition to the Drumline's success, the Jazz I band competed at the Texas A & M University Kingsville Jazz Festival on Saturday. Churchill placed second after Harlingen. Four students were also named All Star Jazz Musicians:

Ernie Elizondo - Alto Saxophone
Russell Edwards - Tenor Saxophone
Brandon Pauley - Trumpet
Johnny Elizondo - Trombone

Elizondo was also named Best Overall Jazz musician of the entire festival.
