Roosevelt High School students Heather Pullen and Katherine Palmer graduated from the Western Art Academy on Saturday, August 2, 2008, a three-week summer art program.

These students received this opportunity after participating in the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Art Show this past school year. Pullen's art show entry was selected for the top 25 auction. Her work of art was auctioned for $7,800 in scholarship funds. Palmer's entry was selected for the top 50 showcase, and her artwork was selected for publication. As a result, both students were invited to interview for a chance to go to the Western Art Academy in Kerrville this summer.
