One spot above the rest, Reagan dance and drill team win top awards

The Reagan High School dance and drill team achieved many accomplishments this summer at camp.

The dance and drill team both won Sweepstakes, which is awarded to teams receiving a first division rating on two evaluations. In addition to Sweepstakes, the teams were each awarded the Most Outstanding in their Home Routine and Camp Dance. The teams also received the overall Grand Champs, awarded to the group with the highest cumulative points at the camp.

With more than 400 participants at the camp, 18 dance students and 29 drill team members received All Star Dancer awards. These individuals were also extended an invitation to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade TM and the Capital One Bowl.

"The teams showed great poise and leadership during our summer camp," said Valeria Rodriguez, Reagan dance director. "We were more than excited to win the highest awards possible at camp, but we were even more excited to begin the year as a strong united team. The girls were proud of their accomplishments and are excited to show the Reagan community that they are simply the best."
