|
North East School of the Arts (NESA) alumnus Daniel Everidge has been cast for the Broadway revival production of Grease in the role of Roger, Danny Zuko's prankster friend and member of the Burger Palace Boys. In the musical, Everidge's character, Roger, sings in several of the production numbers, performs the duet "Mooning" with Jan and sings "Rock 'N Roll Party Queen" with the character Doody. At NESA, the 2002 graduate was a musical theatre major and appeared in a number of productions. He can be remembered for his leading role of Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate. He also played Bottom in A Midsummer's Night Dream and Will ("Everything's Up to Date in Kansas City") in Oklahoma, among other roles while at NESA. Daniel received his BFA in musical theatre from Otterbein College in Ohio last May (2006). He spent the past two summers performing with the Utah Shakespeare Festival and moved to New York City at the end of last summer. He started auditioning for Broadway productions and was very successful in being cast as Roger last fall. The leads for the show, Sandy and Danny, were cast through an NBC reality television show, "You're the One that I Want." The entire cast, including Daniel, appeared on the show March 25, 2007 when the leads were announced. |
