Krueger wins 30 medals in Science Olympiad


Members of the Krueger Middle School Science Olympiad team won 30 medals in the Regional competition held at the University of Texas in Austin on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008. The team placed third overall and is awaiting invitation confirmation to the state finals held at College Station, Texas.

First place awards went to: Alex Hardy, Travis Chau, Kristen Casteel and Ali Klemm.

Second place awards went to: Cara Kornhaus, Alexis Dogohoy, Ali Klemm, Kristen Casteel, Katie Tai, Kevin Tai, Alex Hardy and Gabriel Romero.

Third place awards went to: Victoria Ludolph, Claire Marshall, Debbie Jennings, Kimberly Alix, Katie Tai, Kevin Tai, Jennifer Dolgner, Melissa Trevino, Laura Kellel, Gabriel Romero, Lena Hall, Jaquie Bailey, Stirling Robinson, Joey Rivera, Alex Hardy and Travis Chau.

"This is an excellent group of students whose hard work paid off," said Tracy Thomas, head coach.

This is the second year that Krueger has participated in the Science Olympiad. In addition to Thomas, Roxanne McDaniel, Sarah Stannard and Marti Schultz also coach the students.

Krueger is home to the Fight'n Falcons and the KSAT and iMAK magnet programs.
