Notice: Ask for an ID

From time to time, North East ISD receives reports that people are identifying themselves as district employees to gain access to you and your home or as an introduction of themselves, while their true objective is going door-to-door providing information or endorsing/selling products. Recently, it was brought to the district's attention that a male was visiting homes under the pretense that he was a district employee there to discuss the student handbook. This person is not part of a district-related home visit.

NEISD employees make home visits only on rare occasions and usually involving a student enrolled in our schools. In all such cases, the district employee would be displaying his/her district photo ID badge. Again, home visits are rare and would have a specific purpose related to the student. Follow the hints below if you are approached by someone identifying themselves as a North East employee.

  • Always ask for identification of a person coming to your home. All NEISD employees have a district-issued photo ID badge and should be wearing it in a visible area.
  • If suspicious of the individual, do not allow them in your home.
  • Report suspicious people to the police. You can report NEISD impersonators to the North East ISD Police Department (NEPD) at 655-CARE (2273). Try to include a vehicle description and license plate number.
