Eisenhower eighth-grader proves golfing talents
|
Kasen Schneider, an eighth-grader at Eisenhower Middle School, sank a double eagle on the ninth hole at the Golf Club of Seguin, a par five, during a Central Texas Junior Golf Association tournament on Saturday, August 16. Schneider’s drive went 240 yards down the middle of the fairway where he then hit the ball another 220 yards and into the hole. He shot one over par through 11 holes to win the event, which was called due to bad weather. In addition to his success in Seguin, Schneider claimed fame earlier this year by shooting a hole-in-one from 148 yards away. Schneider was playing with Southwest Airlines Captain Dennis Means. As they neared the seventh hole on the course, Schneider measured the distance and then called his shot. In the excitement and amazement, Schneider's father left work to take pictures of his son's achievement. |
