Anna Tolley, a seventh-grader at Eisenhower Middle School, brought home a medal from the U.S. Fencing Association Summer National Championships in San Jose, California in early July. Tolley competed in both the Youth 14 and Youth 12 events, Women's Épée.

Tolley medaled in the Youth 12 tournament, and was the only Texan among the national finalists for the Youth 12 Women's Épée event.

In addition to fencing, Tolley also participated in the Lone Star Summer Swim League, swimming as a member of the Deerfield Dragons. She placed in numerous events and won her team trophy for the highest points in her age group.
