At the Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference, held in Orlando, Fla. June 28 - July 2, 20 students representing NEISD joined more than 5,000 students from across the United States, Germany, Peru and Canada in attendance. NEISD was represented by 19 students from the Engineering & Technologies Academy and one student from MacArthur High School. These students competed in areas such as Agriculture & Biotechnology, Animatronics, Architectural Model, Cyberspace Pursuit, Flight Endurance, Medical Technology, Promotional Graphics, Structural Engineering, Technical Research Writing, Imaging Technology and Engineering Design.

To compete at the national level, each student advanced through Regionals held at Reagan High School and then State held in Waco, Texas. Participating students include: Elizabeth Freeman, Sylvia Lopo, Jervon Bond, Stefan Nutbrown, Anton Moczygemba, Emily Curry,  Drevon Stanford, Loran Rodriguez, Lilliana Villanueva, Kimberly Martinez, Chelsea Dixon , Kurt Kartaltepe, Jason Moses, My Nguyen, Carlos Rodriguez, Will Grizzard, Russ Kerr, Matt Kluckman, Jeremy More, Alex Dinsmore and Matt DeWaal from MacArthur.

Chelsea Dixon placed third in the National competition, beating more than one hundred competitors in Technical Research Writing. ETA placed first in the Nation in Medical Technology category. This team included Chelsea Dixon, Jeremy More and Kimberly Martinez.  Engineering & Technologies Academy advisors in attendance were Kay Angrove, Russell Breshears, Grizelda Gentry, Brian Griffith and Director Bill Sturgis Director.
