Churchill's Video Tech students win state award

Churchill High School's Video Technology students won first place in state during the 82nd University Interscholastic League (UIL) Press Conference Broadcasting Awards at the University of Texas in Austin. Austin Lopez and Ben Bryce won for sports editing while Zachary Villafana and Evan Witek won for sports videography in the Sports Feature category in the large high schools division (3A-5A) in Texas.

"Ben and Austin have been working hard all year editing football highlights and adding special effects to their stories" said Robin Grevelle-Morriss, video technology teacher at Churchill. "Zachary and Evan filmed every football game with a creative eye and captured not only sideline footage but emotional events both on and off the field. I am extremely proud of all of them!" The students' hard worked was showcased in the highlight video, aired during the school's channel six broadcast and the Web sites for Churchill and NEISD Athletics. The videos can be seen on the Churchill Web site, on the right side panel, http://www.neisd.net/churchill/index.html.
