Churchill High School senior Wilson Bondesen was recently honored by the Texas Education Agency for his artistic accomplishment in the 2009 National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) Young Arts Program. The NFAA Young Arts Program rewards the exceptional achievements of high school senior artists in cinematic arts. Bondesen received national recognition for his video "September 17th" and was awarded a scholarship. He ranked in the top 10 percent out of 6,000 high school seniors from around the country. "It's truly an amazing honor, and Wilson is an extremely talented video director and producer," said Robin Morriss, video technology teacher at Churchill High School. "Wilson is a very dedicated and talented artist," said Clark Stevens, Churchill's Fine Arts department chair. "He has always worked very hard to succeed and that has totally paid off. Wilson is currently in the splendid position of choosing between two of the most reputable and distinguished Fine Arts training programs in the United States. His passions and talents have inspired me as a teacher for years, and I honestly look forward to tracking his professional future in film, video and theatre." |
