Churchill High School's Indoor Percussion Ensemble, performing Underground Remix, placed ninth at the National Winter Guard International (WGI) competition on April 19, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio. The Churchill team is one of two Scholastic World groups in Texas. The competition in Dayton brought more than 150 groups to compete in eight different classes.

There are three classes in WGI percussion: A Class, Open Class and World Class. World Class is the top tier, an elite category of skill sets and musicality.
