Bradley students meet author of recently read novel
|
On Friday, Mar. 7, 2008, Young Adult author Neal Shusterman visited Bradley Middle School to speak with students about his work. "Our eighth-graders had read his novel Full Tilt, so this was a great opportunity for a curriculum connection," said Misty Ptasnik, school librarian. Shusterman spent the day at Bradley, visiting with all eighth-graders, the school's book club and select sixth- and seventh-graders. "He was different than I thought he'd be," said Amanda, eighth-grader. "He's cool, and so are his books." Shusterman spent the time answering student questions about his novels and writing in general. "I like his perspective on things, and his books are radical," said Katie, eighth-grader. |
