Lee names Richard A. Middleton Library
EVENT: Lee High School 50th Anniversary
DATE: Apr. 11
TIME: 6:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Lee High School Library, 1400 Jackson-Keller Road

Lee High School will open its doors to celebrate 50 years of excellence in education with an open house and dedication of the new main building on April 11, 2008. The evening will begin with a reception honoring community volunteers who have committed their time, energy and financial support to the campus. A larger community event, celebrating students, parents, staff, alumni, and community partnerships will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

During the celebration, not only will the new building (which opened in the fall of 2007) be dedicated, the new library will also be named for Dr. Richard Middleton, NEISD Superintendent and graduate of Lee High School. The Richard A. Middleton Library will highlight his years of service and commitment to the district and the Lee campus. The entire Lee community and alumni are invited to the event to help celebrate the many partnerships of the campus.

The "Then and Now" celebration will showcase performances throughout the evening by Lee, International School of the Americas, North East School of the Arts and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students. Guided tours of the new building will be offered, and a celebratory cake will be provided by the Lee campus PTA. Refreshments will also be served by various campus groups. Opportunities will be available for alumni to visit with friends and peruse yearbooks from past years.
