Harris Middle School will host a Science Fiesta! of Vocabulary Parade on April 24, 2008 for the eighth-graders in preparation on the TAKS test. The parade is meant for the students to review their science vocabulary in a fun and memorable way. Each student will be assigned a specific vocabulary word, and the students will create a hat or costume that teaches others the meaning of the term. The vocabulary will include the science terms learned over their three-year science courses. Students will also be given a calling card to share with fellow students who do not know the term's definition.
