On Wednesday, September 3, Eisenhower Middle School will host Jennifer Kogler, author of "The Otherworldlies." She will present to the entire school through three assemblies.
Kogler will talk to the students about the importance of reading and writing, playing particular interest to the importance of proper sourcing. Her overall goal is to inspire young people through her positive example. She discusses her journey to becoming a published author from the California public school system to Princeton. She also will discuss the writing of her new middle grade fiction book, "The Otherworldlies," the first in a series about 12-year-old Fern who discovers that her unusual features and abilities that make her an outcast and the target of teasing are in reality qualities of an Unusual, one of eleven Otherworldies with exceptional powers destined to help either maintain equilibrium between their kind and humans.
