Chief George G. Castaneda
George G. Castañeda (firstname.lastname@example.org) is the Chief of Police for the North East ISD Police Department. A San Antonio native, he attended Luther Burbank High School, San Antonio College and most recently the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) at Sam Houston State University. He began his 27 year career as an officer with the San Antonio Police Department in 1974. He was promoted to the rank of Detective in 1986 and served as an Evidence-Technician and later, as a Narcotics Investigator. When promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1989, he served in Patrol, Gang-Unit, Homicide, Narcotics and helped establish the first High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force for the San Antonio Police Department. He closed his career as a Traffic Sergeant and retired from SAPD in 2001. Changing career paths, he served the Harlandale ISD Police Department from 2001-2006, ultimately, as the Police Chief. Castañeda was named to his current position as Chief of Police for the North East ISD in August of 2006. Chief Castañeda enjoys serving the North East ISD community and considers his current assignment both intensely challenging and rewarding.
