Qualifications

Substitute Teachers must have at least 60 completed college hours from an accredited college or university. Substitute Assistant must have a high school diploma or GED (high school equivalency diploma). We will not process your application until receiving copies of the appropriate documentation. Submit your official transcripts via fax or postal service.

To apply for substitute positions, click on the below link applicable to the position for which you are applying.

Orientation

Orientation is mandatory for applicants before substituting. Applicants will be notified by mail if they are scheduled for Orientation.

Substitute Teacher/Assistant Orientations are scheduled once a month or as needed at the NEEC building from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. (Duration of orientation varies for Substitute Assistants.) NEISD policies and procedures will be reviewed as well as Classroom Management, Discipline policies, Professional Peformance, Payroll issues and instructions on SEMS (Substitute Employee Management System).
