Requirements

To be a student teacher for NEISD your university needs to provide the following:

Letter on university letterhead with names of students requesting to complete their student teaching at NEISD
Students' Grade Level/Certification Areas
Start and end dates
DPS Background Checks for all requesting students
Name of university supervisor for student teachers
Agreement between university and NEISD

Once placed, student teachers will attend an information meeting at the beginning of their semester (dates, times, and locations to be announced each semester). They will receive an ID badge, sign a confidentiality form, and receive information regarding NEISD policies and dress code.

NEISD cannot accommodate student teachers required to audio or video tape students.

North East ISD reserves the right not to accept a student teacher provided the decision is not based on race, sex, national origin, disability, age, religion, or any basis protected by law.
