Salary Information for the 2007-2008 School Year

On June 18, 2007, the North East Board of Trustees adopted the 2007-2008 district budget which included an average 4.5% salary increase for teachers/librarians. This includes $425 funded by the state and an additional $1,875 funded by the district, for a total general pay increase of $2,300. Teachers/Librarians who are new-to-district will not be placed above the 25th year. The Board also adopted a single, flat stipend of $1,800 for a Master's Degree.  A current teacher/librarian who has earned a Master's Degree in or before the 2006-07 School Year and is earning more than $1,800 will continue to be paid that amount as long as they are a teacher/librarian in the district (held "harm-less"). Example: A current 20-year teacher/librarian earns $2,072 for a Master's Degree.  This is $2,072 more than the Bachelor's Degree salary for a 20-year teacher/librarian.  That teacher/librarian will continue to be paid $2,072 for their Master's Degree as long as they are a teacher/librarian in the district. The amount will not increase or decrease.  Teachers/librarians currently earning less than $1,800 will be adjusted to earn the $1,800 single, flat stipend.

All other eligible employees will receive a 4.5% general pay increase based on their pay grade midpoint. For eligible employees paid on the professional salary schedules, the general pay increase will be based on the 2007-2008 pay grade midpoints. Nurses and Counselors have the state funded $425 included in the 4.5% increase. For eligible employees paid on the classified salary schedules, the general pay increase will be based on the 2006-2007 pay grade midpoints. All employees must have completed 90 full-time work days in the 2006-2007 School Year to receive the general pay increase.

Guidelines for Calculating Increases for employees based on midpoint

Employees will also be eligible to receive a Retention Incentive Supplement made payable in two paychecks at the end of the first and second semesters, provided the employee completes each semester and has a hire date on or before October 1, 2007. Teachers/librarians will receive $1,500 ($750 for half-time) and all other employees will receive three percent (3%) of their 2007-2008 pay grade midpoint, up to a maximum of $1,500). The retention supplement does not apply to substitute, temporary and employees working less than 20 hours per week.
