The online application is used for all NEISD employment opportunities.
If my certification area is not listed or if my college major is not listed on the employment application, what should I do?
If you do not find the right information to select for your certification or school major, leave the field blank and fill in the information in the space provided. Remember, if it is not a required field you may leave the field blank and you will be able to give this information to us when you come in for your screening interview.
What type of references do I need for my application?
You will need three (3) professional references with valid mailing addresses and phone numbers.
Appropriate references include current and past supervisors and employers that have personal knowledge of your character, academic, or working ability.
Do not use friends, family, or relatives as references on you employment application.
I am relocating to the U.S. from overseas, are foreign references allowed?
NEISD accepts professional references originating from outside the United States. However, you cannot submit addresses for these references via the online application. For these references, submit them directly to Human Resources by email, by calling (210) 555-1212, delivering them in person or through the U.S. Postal Service to Human Resources, 8961 Tesoro Drive, Suite 200, San Antonio, TX 78217.
What documents/information do I need to provide when applying for a job with NEISD?
To complete the application for employment, applicants need information regarding certifications, degrees, and work experience.
As well, you will need to provide professional/work-related references, which includes contact information-current addresses and phone numbers.
Note that consideration for employment with NEISD requires that all high school, college, and university transcripts and degrees be from a school that accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
If I have applied previously to NEISD, do I need to submit a new application?
Applications are kept on file for one year from the date submitted. You can keep your file active by updating your information. You can keep your file active with NEISD by going back to your application at the end of one (1) year and resubmitting your application with updated information. If you have difficulty accessing your application, call Human Resources at (210) 804-7025, extension 221.
I have an application on file, can I submit a letter of intent and resume for a posted position?
Yes, if you have submitted a new or updated application within the last year you will need only to submit a Letter of Intent and your resume for the position.
What if my College/University is not listed in your table?
Leave it blank if you do not find your college/university. Check the table closely; for example, the University of Texas at Austin is listed as Texas University at Austin.
I do not have a Texas teaching certification, what do I do?
If you have a life certificate, you will leave the expiration date blank. If you hold an Out-of-State Certificate, please attempt to match your information with the choices listed. This Microsoft Word document will be helpful to you on obtaining your Texas certification.
Do I have to provide past experience?
If you have prior experience, you should list it. This helps us get to know you.
Do I need to List my student teaching experience?
Enter work experience starting with the most recent. If you have taught for five (5) full years, you do not need to include your student teaching information.
You can get a copy of your current certifications from the SBEC website. If you are on a standard certificate be sure to enter the beginning and expiration date.

Browser Requirements
^ Top of PageDo I have to use a certain type of browser to complete the employment application?
To complete the online application you must be using either Netscape 4.77 or greater, or Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater. You can download current versions of these browsers from Netscape and Microsoft, respectively.
Some parts of the web site seem to have problems, is there a recommended browser I should use?
Any browser will display the Human Resources web site, however, we recommend using a modern browser so you can view the site as intended. There are several free versions available, including Netscape, Mozilla, and Internet Explorer.
