History
Oak Grove is steeped in memories, having been built in 1961, nestled among thirteen acres of oak trees. The original enrollment was approximately 400. From 1983 to 1989 it blossomed to an enrollment of approximately 1,000, but today has a student population of about 500. The number includes not only Kinder-5th grade students (regular and special education), but is the site of the regional school for the auditory impaired. A Pre-Kinder program clustering children from neighborhood elementary campuses, and a very special program for pre-school children with disabilities (PPCD) complete our academic offering. Because of these special programs, we are blessed to have many exceptional specialists on our campus.
Oak Grove continues to grow in many ways, always adding programs and activities for the enrichment of all students. A friendly, caring environment makes it a welcome place for our students.

The Oak Grove Bell was given to Oak Grove in 1986 by Southern Pacific Railroad.
The bell is rung only on special occasions and can be heard throughout the school.
Oak Grove School Song
(to the tune of "Texas, Our Texas")
Oak Grove, Our Oak Grove
The champion and the best.
Oak Grove, Our Oak Grove, outshining all the rest.
Our motto is learning; we welcome every test.
Reading, Writing, Arithmetic...our favorite is recess.
God Bless our Oak Grove and keep it growing strong.
The friends we meet we'll always keep and help others along.
