Elizabeth and I want to welcome you to another exciting year at Northwood Elementary. We are eager to get started and open up a new world of learning for your child. Our theme is "The Little School That Makes a BIG Difference!" With that as our theme, we will be implementing some new and interesting programs to our curriculum. History Alive will bring social studies lessons "alive" in the classroom with role-playing experiences, hands-on activities, and special projects. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in community service through our own "Pay It Forward" projects. Every student will "unlock" their potential with our new Self-Manager program, which is designed to encourage your child to make positive choices. We know these are going to be great additions to our challenging and rigorous program. Our teachers are busily preparing to make this school year a truly wonderful one for your child.
We always encourage parent involvement and participation. Please come by and visit your child at lunch or for special activities. Educating your child is a team effort! We are excited for this school year and we hope you are too!
