Uniforms are required for all students enrolled at Nimitz MS.  The student's uniform must fit properly, not exceeding one size beyond the correct size and may not be modified in any way.  This includes bagging or sagging pants, and oversized shirts/blouses.  Logos and labels may not be visible.  Parents must remove any visible logos/labels or the student will be out of compliance with the dress code. A student will not be permitted to attend class if his/her uniform is out of compliance with the uniform policy.  School-issued photo ID cards are a part of the uniform and are required every day. 
 

For Boys:

1. Navy cotton or polyester twill trousers/walking shorts

The following are NOT acceptable:

  • Denim, jeans, corduroy, athletic sweats or wind suits.
  • Cargo or carpenter pants/shorts
  • Torn seams or frayed hems
  • Flared legs, bell bottoms, hip huggers or stripes of any kind
  • Walking shorts that measure MORE than three inches above the knee.

2. Shirts- Solid White

  • Collared, oxford/polo/golf-type, long or short sleeves allowed.
  • Shirts must have buttons, no zippers, no logos or t-shirts
  • All shirts must be long enough to be tuck in completely at all times.
  • If undershirts are worn, they must be solid white--no logos.

 3. Belts are required if the trousers have belt loops.

  • Belt length must be appropriate size- no more than a 3" overlap. Any overlap must be put through a belt loop.
  • Suspenders are NOT allowed
  • Only navy, brown, or black belts allowed.
 

For Girls:

The following are NOT acceptable:

  • Denim, jeans, corduroy, athletic sweats or wind suits.
  • Torn seams or frayed hems
  • Flared legs, bell bottoms, hip huggers or stripes of any kind
  • Walking shorts, skort/skirt or jumpers that measure MORE than 3" above the knee
  • Spandex or Lycra
  • Cargo or carpenter pants/shorts
  • Capri, pedal pusher, clam digger pants

2. Shirt / Blouse: Solid White

  • Collared, oxford/polo/golf-type, long or short sleeves allowed.
  • Shirts/Blouses  must have buttons, no zippers, no logos or t-shirts.
  • All shirts/blouses  must be long enough to be tuck in completely at all times, even undershirts
  • Undergarments must be beige or solid white
  • Spandex and lycra tops are not allowed as undershirts.

3. Belts are required if the trousers have belt loops.

  • Belt length must be appropriate size- no more than a 3" overlap. Any overlap must be put through a belt loop.
