What are our alumni up to?

MT graduates are currently succeeding in a wide range of conservatory training programs and liberal arts colleges, including University of Michigan, DePaul University, University of Southern California, Ithaca College, Otterbein College, NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, Boston Conservatory, Southern Methodist University, Emerson College, University of Oklahoma, Northwestern University, Berklee College of Music, Columbia College, UT Austin, University of North Texas, Baylor University and The Juilliard School, to name a few.

Sarah Fullen '00 performs in NYC and other locales with her band Sarah and the Stanleys. Check out their Facebook or My Space pages and download some great music.

Eric Mota '01 is performing in the national tour of The Wizard of Oz. Eric graduated from Sam Houston State University's MT program in 2006.

Amy Ashton '02 moved to NYC in April, and is currently the Artistic Associate at Roundabout Theatre Company, where she assists Artistic Director Todd Haimes in running the Artistic Office of New York's premiere Non-for-Profit Theatre Company. This season she's working on BYE BYE BIRDIE, AFTER MISS JULIE, WISHFUL DRINKING, THE UNDERSTUDY, PRESENT LAUGHTER, GLASS MENAGERIE, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, ORDINARY DAYS, and 2 productions that have yet to be annonunced. She also puts togther readings of plays and musicals to be considered for future productions, and manages the artistic and company guests at all opening nights. Outside of Roundabout, she's doing some free-lance directing and producing, predominantly developing new plays with small companies around town.

Bethany Heinrich '02 is currently performing on Broadway, in The Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino as Shylock. Last summer, she performed as Dorcas in the NYC Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of A Winter's Tale. Bethany graduated from Juilliard's acting program last spring.

Daniel Everidge '02 did the fight choreography for NESA's production of West Side Story last fall, and directed our production of Grease last winter. Daniel performed two songs at the NESA Benefit last June. He played Roger in the Broadway revival of Grease.

Katie Curtis '04 graduated with her M.F.A. in Acting from SMU. She is currently working on her Masters in Education in San Antonio. Katie will work at NESA this winter as Movement Director for Caucasian Chalk Circle. Katie worked as our dialect coach and fight choreographer for The Pirates of Penzance last Spring, and guest-taught several movement/voice workshops for the MT students.

Sam Quinn '04 recently returned to San Antonio to play Romeo in Magik Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of "Romeo and Juliet." Sam graduated from the College of Santa Fe in 2008 and now lives and works in Chicago, where he's been busy on stage and in commercial work.

Selina Verastigui '04 performed the role of Diana Morales in the recent Broadway national tour of A Chorus Line. She received her B.F.A. in Musical Theater from Otterbein College in 2008 and now resides in New York.

Cole Wilson '04 performs and records with his band Apple Miner Colony. Cole has moved to Austin and is now pursuing his music career there. Cole performed two of his original songs at the NESA benefit last June.

Jose Sepulveda '05 appeared on One Life to Live and performed as Juan in the national tour of Altar Boys last fall. He received his B.F.A. in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan in 2009.

Chris Ignacio '05 performed in NYC in a new composer showcase organized by Tyler Phillips (IM '06). Chris received his B.F.A. in Musical Theater from Boston Conservatory in 2009.

Caroline Kittrell '06 just returned from touring in the title role of Alice, with the Magik Theater Company. Last summer, she appeared in "The Drowsy Chaperone" in Florida. She graduated from NYU Tisch's CAP 21 program.

Leonard Navarro '06 begins a 6 month National Tour of "The Mystery of King Tut." He'll play Lord Carnarvon in the Theatre Works production. Leonard graduated with his B.F.A. in Musical Theaeter from the University of Michigan last Spring, and is now based in New York.

Sarah GIse '07 played Sally Bowles in Cabaret, at the University of Southern California, this fall. Last year, she played the title role in Euripedes' Medea. She is a senior in USC's B.F.A. in Acting program.

Ashlee Rose '07 performed on an Alaska Cruise ship last summer. Ashlee performed for the NESA Benefit last June, singing one of her originals, plus "Memory," from Cats. She's spent the last few years as a featured performer at Sea World in San Antonio, in addition to her local solo gigs.

Royer Bockus '08 made her professional stage debut this fall in Chicago's Lookingglass Theater Company's Peter Pan. Royer is a junior at Northwestern University.

Ryan Garrett '08 is currently music directing Rent at Baldwin-Wallace College, where he is studying Music Direction and Composition. Last summer, he worked at Vermont's Weston Playhouse as an Assistant Music DIrector. Recent shows include Grey Gardens, the regional premiere of [title of show], Pippin, and Lippa's Wild Party.

Abby Hankins '08 played Mimi in Rent this fall, at California State University/Fullerton, where she is a junior in the B.F.A. Musical Theater program. She worked in the Steppenwolf Theater Company's summer training program in L.A. last summer. Last year, she performed with the Steve Miller Band and was cast as a lounge singer in the independent film My Emily. She's also doing acoustic sets on Thursdays at her sister's club in Hollywood.

Shayna Zalcberg '08 recently performed in Otterbein University's production of The Wild Party. She is a junior in the B.F.A. Musical Theater program.

Grace Phipps '10 has been cast as "Amy" in the ABC Family pilot Nine Lives, based on the series of young adult novels by Celia Thomson. Last summer, Grace played "Bee" in the Dreamwork's remake of "Fright Night," which stars Colin Farrell and Toni Collette. Grace now lives in L.A., where she is represented by The Corsa Agency and Media Talent Group.
