14 NESA Students Win $36,000 in Las Casas Performance Scholarships

Sunday evening, May 22nd, the Las Casas Foundation held its third annual Finalist Performance for its "High School Scholarship for Excellence in the Performing Arts Program" program. The performance was held at the Charlene McCombs Empire Theater. Thirty-one high school seniors from across Bexar County competed for $71,000 in Scholarship funds. Fourteen of the finalists were NESA Musical Theater and Dance majors. We're proud to announce that our seniors received $36,000 in scholarships. The awards to the NESA seniors are as follows:

JUDGE'S AWARD: Nick Fearon ($5,000)

SOLO VOICE:
1st Place: Madison Tinder ($5,000)
2nd Place: Gabriel Bernal ($3,000)
3rd Place: Lindsey Mader ($2,000)

5th Place: Zachary Aguilar ($1,000)
Runners Up: Julia Babin & Jessie Saltzman ($750)

DANCE:
1st Place: Nick Fearon ($5,000)
2nd Place: Tory Ramirez ($3,000)
3rd Place: Alina Garza ($2,000)

th Place: Anthony Martinez ($1,500)
5th Place: Larah Pamplin ($1,000)

MONOLOGUE:
3rd Place: Jared Howelton ($2,000)

DUET SCENES:
3rd Place: Georgia Jenkins & Alli Rymill ($2,000 each)
