Telecommunication and
Recording Devices
Prohibited during State Testing
| Parent and students need to be aware of
the new, stronger state-mandated policy regarding
the inappropriate student use of any telecommunication or recording
devices during state testing
days beginning this spring. Such devices include cell phones, pagers, text
messengers, PDA's,
walkie-talkies, cameras/video recorders and any device containing a camera
or video recorder,
voice recorders and any device containing a voice recorder as well as
multifunction watches
containing any of the items listed previously. As technology emerges,
additional devices could be
added to this list. "Use of a telecommunication or recording device during state testing could result in the invalidation of the student's test scores." Students may continue to bring cell phones and other approved devices to school but will be asked to remove them from their pockets and clothing and place them in their purses/backpacks away from their desks during testing. Because of the importance of this rule, students are strongly advised to leave these devices outside the testing room until they have completed the testing for each day. |
