IMPORTANT NOTICE
AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) LOCATIONS
AED stands for "Automated External Defibrillator." An AED is used to administer an electric shock to a person who is having a cardiac arrest. AEDs are designed to allow non-medical personnel to save lives.
Two pads, connected to the AED, are placed on the patient's chest. A computer inside the AED analyzes the patient's heart rhythm and determines if a shock is required to save the victim. If a shock is required, the AED uses voice instructions to guide the user through saving the person's life.
Madison High School has four AEDs and they are located in the following areas:
#1 is in the foyer, attached to a trophy case, to the left of the circle entrance
#2 is in the cafeteria, to the right of the teachers’ lounge door, near the fire extinguisher
#3 is upstairs in the gym, on the same wall as Coach Streety’s office door
#4 is downstairs in the entrance hall of the gym,
near the laundry room,
across from the training room
#5 is downstairs in
the Science building, through the first set of double doors,
to the left,
across from the girls' restroom
