Overview Students learn the hows and whys of small-business recordkeeping through hands-on drills that include preparing bank reconciliations, creating sales slips, processing credit card sales, computing sales tax, preparing sales reports and payroll records, and working with simple financial statements. It can be a stepping-stone into the Accounting class. Recordkeeping is a course designed for students who wish to learn how to keep personal and family records as well as to keep business records. Units include, cash receipts, petty cash records, cash and credit purchasing, cash and charge sales, inventory records, accounts receivable, accounts’ payable, payroll, and other recordkeeping activities for small businesses. A practice set involving keeping actual records for a small business is included. Some computer work is required. Benefits
