Coaches Profile

Varsity Coach:  Tracy Hastings

Coach Hastings is in her18th year of teaching and coaching for North East Independent School District. She began her career at Churchill High School., and has been at Madison High School for the past thirteen years. She currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Coordinator and Varsity Girls Basketball coach.  Coach Hastings teaches Geometry.

Coach Hastings graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics (1989) and a Masters of Science degree in mathematics (1991). Coach Hastings played basketball for 4 years at Angelo State and served for 2 seasons as a graduate assistant.

Coach Hastings married David Hastings in 1995. They have a son, Korson (six years old).

Junior Varsity Coach:  Mandy Heine

Coach Heine is starting her second year teaching and coaching at Madison High School.  She will be teaching Biology and coaching basketball and track.  Previously, Coach Heine coached basketball and track at Somerset High School and Elgin High School.

Coach Heine graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (2000).  Prior to attending The University of Texas at Austin, Coach Heine played basketball for one year at McClennon Junior College in Waco. 

Coach Heine has one daughter, Brooke, who is 5 years old.

Freshman Coach:  Jennifer Alexander

Coach Alexander is beginning her first year at Madison High School.  She will be teaching English I and coaching basketball and softball.  Prior to coming to Madison, Coach A taught and coached at Bastrop HS.  While finishing her last year in college, Coach A was a student assistant at Howard Payne University.

Coach A graduated from Howard Payne University in 2006 with a B.A. in English Language Arts and Reading.  Coach A played all four years for the HPU Women's Basketball team.
