Head Coach: Chris Romine
Assistant Coaches: Terrell Johnston, Josh McDaniel, Matt Mayfield
Coach Johnston is in his 9th year of teaching/coaching at the high school level. He started his coaching career at Flower Mound High School in the DFW Metroplex and was a varsity assistant there for 5 years. He has moved around Texas lately with stops at Bastrop High School, Yoakum High School where he was the Head Coach, and at Barbers Hill High School last year. Coach Johnston played high school basketball at Tuloso-Midway in Corpus Christi and earned an athletic scholarship to play at Angelo State University. While at Angelo State, he was a part of a conference championship team and played in the Division II National Tournament in Topeka, Kansas. In the classroom, he teaches Business Information Management to every classification at the high school. Coach Johnston is married to his best friend and wife Kim and they have two kids Gage (5 years old) and Kendall (1 year old). They enjoy spending time together at their house, on the river, or on the lake.
Coach McDaniel is in his 3rd year of coaching on the high school level. He started coaching at Madison High School after working as a graduate assistant at the University of Virginia where he also played football and basketball. Coach McDaniel played high school sports in Knoxville, Tennessee at Karns high school. He received his bachelor’s in English Literature at the University of Virginia and teaches Senior English at Madison. Coach McDaniel is married to his wonderful wife Michelle and they have two children Kaitlyn (9 years old) and Jake (7 years old). In their spare time they are active with the youth at their church and Coach McDaniel also serves as the sponsor for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Coach Mayfield is in his 2nd year of teaching/coaching. Last year he coached the freshman level at Madison High School. He is a graduate of Texas State University where he earned a Bachelors’ of Science with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Sociology. Coach Mayfield is a NEISD graduate from ISA where he played varsity basketball at Lee High School. In the classroom, Coach Mayfield teaches six sections of geometry. He has been married to his wife Clemence (a Madison graduate) for 4 years, and they have a wonderful 2 year old son Cohen.
