Important Dates to mark on your calendar:
January 17, 2008 - Counselors from the middle school have been asked to collect teacher recommendations for future AVID students. The district has also generated a list of potential candidates. Students may self nominate.
February 28 – March 14, 2008 - Students recommended and those interested in applying for AVID (incoming 9th) will be given an application for AVID, as well as an information sheet explaining the program.
March 14, 2008 - Completed applications with two teacher recommendations and a copy of student’s last report card are due (to be turned in to your Counselor’s Office).
April 1-11, 2008 - Incoming 9th graders who meet the AVID criteria will be interviewed by AVID Site Team members.
End of April – May - Final decisions will be made for AVID students for academic year 2008-2009 based on a scoring rubric.
May 2008- Students and parents will be notified of selection.
May 20, 2008 - AVID end of year celebration – Madison Cafeteria at 6:30
