Course Description: In this elective course students will study the various visual arts including radio, television, movies, animating, and multimedia to understand how the illustrate a message or theme. This course in analytically oriented. Students will learn broadcasting background and will examine current media trends. They will gain "hands on" experience in media production, writing, producing, directing, and editing programs and by running cameras. This course will have a strong composition emphasis which includes writing critiques, essays, creative dialogues, editing sessions, interview question television copy, and research.

Course Description: Advanced media is a full year elective. This course is both analytical and production oriented. Students will analyze media trends, classic movies, and current award winning movies. Students will gain "hands on" experience in media production. They will write, produce, direct and edit programs, and operate video cameras. They will perform in front of the camera as newscasters, announcers, interviewers, and actors. An additional feature of this course will be student-produced videos to be submitted to video contests as well as public access cable.
