The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) In 1985, 1989, and 1994 students from MacArthur participated in this program. Partner students from Germany live in the homes of their partners at MacArthur in the Spring and attend school for two weeks, then the MacArthur partners go to Germany to do the same thing. The new Mac partner school is the Greiz Gymnasium. |

| Greiz is a small town south of Leipzig near the Thuringian Forest. MacArthur has had a long time affiliation with Greiz because of the English Teacher Mr. Jens Sippel, who was the tour guide for the 1989 Mac GAPP group touring in the former East Germany. | |

| The Greiz students were at Mac in March-April, 2002, and Mac students visited Greiz again in 2003, going also to Munich, Nuremberg, Prague Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and Seiffen. Now that everyone has email students on both sides can get to know each other quite well, exchanging pictures and letters daily. | |
